A 15kV pre-moulded cable joint is a type of electrical accessory designed to connect medium-voltage power cables. These joints are commonly used in underground or enclosed installations where durable, moisture-resistant, and electrically safe connections are essential.

Pre-moulded cable joints are made from high-quality insulating materials, typically EPDM or silicone rubber. The body of the joint is moulded into a shape that fits standard cable sizes and ensures uniform thickness around the conductor, providing consistent insulation performance.

The joint includes a stress control layer that manages the electric field within the connection. This helps reduce partial discharge and extends the operating life of the cable system. Additionally, a semi-conductive layer is often included to shield the inner insulation and ensure smooth voltage transition.

Installation involves stripping the cable to the required dimensions, inserting the conductors into the joint body, and securing them with compression connectors or mechanical lugs. Once assembled, the joint offers a solid mechanical connection along with reliable electrical insulation.

The pre-moulded joints design minimizes installation errors and reduces the time required for field assembly. As a result, it is suitable for applications in utility networks, industrial plants, and infrastructure projects.
